Beating victim in critical condition

Jill Marker, who was severely beaten Saturday night at Silk Plant Forest in Silas Creek Crossing, was in critical but stable condition yesterday at Forsyth memorial Hospital, a hospital spokesman said. Marker, 34, was found lying in the back of the store and bleeding from head injuries. Sgt. Chris Peddle of the Winston-Salem Police Department said that Marker apparently was beaten during a robbery.
